Uroš Abram / Dialogical Portraits

Abram's dialogue portraits are a kind of portraits parlants, talking portraits, which transcend the usual portrait genres with their unique form of collaboration between the portraitist and the model. The portraits speak to us about who and what artists are today, since postmodernism has so radically devalued the notion of high art and artists themselves have renounced the established image of the artist as a social subject – a spiritualised benefactor of humanity who, regardless of the sacrifices made, gives themselves for something that transcends them and their very existence; an image of the artist that is separated from the otherwise ordinary world between the walls of his studio, where they explore and conjure up images of timeless truths.
