Timo Kelaranta

The exhibition of Timo Kelaranta's photographs has been conceived as a survey presenting the photographic reminiscences of the Finnish artist. These extremely subtle recordings with light which stem from the artist's philosophical "Weltanschauung", are especially fascinating because of their pristine impressions of light. A chronological retrospect of his work, however, reveals that Kelaranta was never interested in photography in its tautological sense, that is, in the repetition of life's reality, but rather in photographic impressions of perceptually controlled settings or their formal components, relating to the semantic space of the image. Jolanda Petelinkar
