Tihomir Pinter / The Chemistry of the Image

Exhibition catalog published on the occasion of the retrospective exhibition of photographs by Tihomir Pinter, Chemistry of the Image (November 28, 2017 – March 4, 2018). This was the first comprehensive presentation of the author's extensive oeuvre, which has been created using black-and-white analog techniques from the early 1960s to the present day.

Although he is a photographer who has cultivated his creativity in this medium alongside his profession as a chemist and pharmacist, in almost six decades of his creative work he has developed a recognizable authorial style and perfected his mastery of classical photographic techniques in his darkroom.

The exhibition Tihomir Pinter: The Chemistry of Images is accompanied by a comprehensive monographic publication, which not only provides an in-depth art-historical examination of the scope and significance of Pinter's oeuvre, but also documentation and nearly 150 reproductions of original black-and-white photographs created in the author's darkroom.
