“I was fortunate to meet Diego early in his career, in the youth leagues of Argentinos Junior, in my early days of photography, a vocation that would later lead me to follow him around the world. And in my many subsequent encounters with him, I was able to understand his true inner light.
I remember several anecdotes, right at the beginning of his career, when he, young athlete that he was, did not like photographers disturbing him. From the middle of the field he would regularly “aim” his anger toward the photographers’ booth….”
