Tone Stojko / The Body in Play
Tone Stojko / The Body in Play
Even if on the occasion od the retrospective created by the 2002 exhibitions Dogodki včerajšnjega popoldneva (Events of yesterday's afternoon) and Gledališka fotografija (Theatre photography), it seemed it would be impossible to express still more in one single photographic oeuvre, by deploying his camera which has now partly become a "painting" tool, Tone Stojko managed to embark on new spheres of abstract, subtly lyrical nude photography. How far back Stojko's wish to experiment goes is shown by his earliest photographs of this kind made in the 1970s, already then entitled Telo v igri (The Body in Play); how the photographer's sensibility has since then been sharpened and accomplished in terms of his personality is manifested by the photographs which are being shown for the first time in Ljubljana's Jakopič Gallery.
