Mladenka Šolman / Jasenka Bulj: Painting, Photography, Video

Jasenka Bulj's monograph is a cross-section of the painter's 35-year work expanded with photographs and video works. The introductory text of Mladenka Šolman follows, analyzes and evaluates the development line of Jasenka Bulj's works in the sequence of key stages and exemplary works. In addition to an introductory essay and reproductions of selected works, the book also contains an extensive biography (with photographic attachments), a catalog of presented works, a biography and a translation into English, which in total amounts to about 150 pages of text, 152 color illustrations and numerous notes. Jasenka Bulj's painting has a developmental consistency and convincing personality of language and themes. The result are conscious positions and spontaneous performances. Starting from interior scenes, existential themes, landscape insights and ecological reflections, from painting, photography to video works, the author, with a wide range of topics, levels and media, superiorly expressed the relationship between man, nature and contemporary reality through the works of a unique and amazing organization.
