Judith Huemers monography combines a selection of her work over the last ten years that share one thing – they are of an autobiographical origin. Substantial topics in her photographs, objects, installations, performances and videos include the exploration of her own identity, womanhood and Huemer’s own life-experience. In an ironic-critical way she reacts to social patterns, clichés and expectations mainly acting as the protagonist herself. Thus her own persona and biography have become the motive and conceptual impulse for her artistic work collected in this book.
“Selected Works 1998-2008” not only shows Huemer’s style and complete works, but also documents exhibitions and performances and is completed by texts in German and English.
