Hanno Hardt / Traces of Real

Hanno Hardt's photographic monograph is the result of the author's many years of getting to know Slovenia and Slovenians. After returning to Europe after forty years of living and working in the US and choosing Slovenia as his new home, he got to know his new living environment and its inhabitants primarily through his camera. This is why, in his view, Slovenians are not young, cheerful and optimistic actors on an advertising billboard, but people in everyday, often quite painful life situations. Anyone leafing through his album will find it easier to imagine how Slovenians lived during the period of radical change at the end of the 1980s and up until the turn of the millennium.
