Cloud Arrangers: Musical Photo Impressions is Žiga Koritnik‘s book of music photography, mainly but not exclusively jazz and improvising musicians. Koritnik comes from Ljubljana, Slovenia, and has been photographing professionally since 1990, setting his music base at the Ljubljana Jazz Fesival, Europe’s oldest jazz festival clocking in at 50 years.

Koritnik's photography expresses a deep passion for the performers while being aware of and showing respect to the entire musical scene. Starting in 1986, he has followed music for more than 30 years. Koritnik had more than 60 solo photo exhibitions all over the world, worked for several music festivals and taken more than 150 portraits of musicians. He is creating immortal images with both analogue and digital photography equally. That technique allows him to bring the music world closer and beyond music genres and to tell the story of music to everyone. The book Cloud Arrangers presents the best moments caught at concerts and many portraits of well-known musicians from different genres, such as Anthony Braxton, Cesaria Evora, Ron Carter, Bill Frisell, Joe McPhee, Diane Reeves, Ray Charles, Tom Waits, Miles Davis, Sonny Rollins, Han Bennink, Cesaria Evora, B.B.King, Buddy Guy, Oumou Sangare, Hamid Drake, Peter Brötzmann, The Thing ...

The music that opened the author's sensory panorama was Frank Zappa’s. His musical tastes in music are universal with a special emphasis on latter-day improvisers. He is well-known to the jazz scene in Europe, less so in North America, except to the musicians and journalists who regularly attend its exceptionally curated festivals. The art-book called Cloud Arrangers encompasses a wide range of performers and photographic vistas, as well as texts examining jazz photography, its history and how its photographers tackle sight and sound.
