Tihomir Pinter, 1/125 Moments with Artists
A monograph on the photographic portraits of Tihomir Pinter, Master of photography EFIAP, is a unique black-and-white document of Slovene artists from the second half of the past and early current centuries. The monochromatic images of artists and cultural workers - writers, painters, actors, musicians - uncover thousands of shades of black and white, which is not grey, but rather the color of the subject's spirit, his character, work. The tonal shades, dynamic of the subjects, caught in only a short second, presents us people who have made an impact on their time as artists. With one word - over 120 images by Tihomir Pinter speak of Pinter as an artist. The book was made by making a selection from the archive, which contains several 1000 images. Dr. Jure Mikuž says it contains only the best: "The first selection was made by the author from the large number of photos made already at the time of photographing an individual. The photographer was not interested in name, fame, work, or profession. His criteria were whether the image was good, no matter the subject and motif, similar to his images of nudes were not selected based on physical beauty, or landscapes based on natural phenomena."
