Countless people have settled along this mighty river, which has seen and suffered all that Europeans have achieved and have wrought unto one another. The Danube is a European river and even more: The River of Europe.
For the past thirty years the world-renowned photographer, Inge Morath, has photographed the Danube River, repeatedly following it over long distances - from its source in the Black Forest to its delta in the Black Sea. The people and their achievements, the natural environment, and its destruction - what she saw along the Danube is gathered in a representative selection in this exhibition.
