Simon Chang / To Become a Photographer, One Must First Learn to Wander
In To Become a Photographer, One Must First Learn to Wander, Simon Chang ruminates on the relationship between photography and slow living. Born in Taipei, Simon moved to Prague in 2003 and immersed himself in the art of photography. While modern technology like smartphones has created a culture of snapping photos, Simon believes there is no shortcut to mastering photography. He asserts that the only way to uncover the secrets of photography is to plunge into the depths of life.
Simon emphasises that what lies outside the frame is no less important than what is inside. He enjoys living fully and storytelling through his eyes. This book is a remembrance of his first ten years in Europe, where he learned to truly "see" the world. It shares personal stories most dear to him through absorbing images and heartfelt words.
